Breckenridge Wedding Planner Plans Her Wedding!

Wedding Goals and Direction

When thinking about what direction I wanted our wedding to go in, I started by thinking about what I dislike most about weddings.  There is just so much I love about weddings I thought this would be an easier route. Wes and I are huge outdoor people and try to be mindful of the environment in everything we do.  We try to buy local whenever possible and always recycle.  Why not carry these same thoughts over to our wedding. I realize it’s part of the job but being a wedding planner I unfortunately see so much waste at the end of a wedding. During the process of planning our wedding, I am going to try and be as gentle to the environment as I can and still pull off an amazing wedding. I am going to share these ideas in my upcoming blog posts so keep a look out!

Keeping in mind one or more goals for your wedding will help you pull off a wedding of your dreams. So remember, it’s your wedding day so make it yours.

Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Pages as a Table Runner

Posted by on February 15th, 2014

To add interest to a wedding table, instead of a traditional table runner, you can construct a runner made entirely out of pages of books. Rachael of Rachael Grace Photography came up with this idea and I absolutely love it! You can go to the Goodwill and find books or if you have some old ones lying around the house that haven’t been read in a very long time and you can give them new life and join in the wedding day fun!

Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Mason Jars

Posted by on January 30th, 2014

During one of the weddings we planned last summer at Timber Ridge in Keystone, Colorado we came across a great story that involved a very popular wedding trend; mason jars. The bride’s family had a really creative way of collecting them. When I told Rachael about the story, we knew we needed to include it in our green/recycled wedding details series. The mother of the bride was an elementary school teacher and told her students she would give them a piece of candy for every jar they brought in. The kids were hungry for candy and the results were amazing. There were so many mason jars in every shape and size. We put a candle in each and it just lit up the room. Perfection!

Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Bridesmaid’s Dresses

Posted by on December 27th, 2013

A couple weeks ago, I posted a blog about how to allow your bridesmaids to choose their own dress and still look cohesive. This idea goes right along with our recycled/green wedding detail series. I was looking through past wedding photographs from Rachael Grace Photography and found this great concept come to fruition. You have all of your ladies choose a dress, same color, from the same designer. After that, they choose their statement jewelry piece or shoes in a certain color. The outcome is very unique, cohesive and not to mention, gorgeous!

Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Reclaimed Wood

Posted by on December 23rd, 2013

Reclaimed wood can be used in many ways during your wedding. It can enhance the feel and add a touch of rustic charm. Being Breckenridge wedding planners we have seen some of the best ideas for reclaimed wood. When speaking with Rachael Grace Photography about green wedding ideas, we knew that we had to include it. The wood can be painted to inform your guests where the ceremony and reception are.  A log can also be cut width wise and makes a great centerpiece stand on your wedding tables. Beautiful!
