Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Tin Can Lanterns

Posted by on September 5th, 2013

For the recycled/green wedding décor project with Rachael Grace Photography, I wanted to incorporate something that would be beautiful at your wedding and then could be tossed into the recycling afterwards. That led me to the tin can lantern. To make it I peeled the label off, filled the cans with water and froze them. This helps to keep the can intact when you are punching the holes.  Take the tin can out of the freezer and just start punching. You can make a pattern with paper and wrap it around the can if you choose. When you are done, you can spray paint the can with one of your wedding colors. Next, you place a candle inside and the room will glow with your recyclable creation.

Breckenridge Wedding Planner: Tips

Posted by on July 31st, 2013

A while ago I blogged about how to keep your heals from sinking into the mountain terrain during your wedding. At the wedding I recently planned, I saw this brilliant idea! Get rid of the heals all together and wear cowgirl boots. They are perfect for the uneven mountain ground and also have a wild west feeling. Your bridesmaids will be able to dance the night away in comfort. Thank you Four Cornered Photography for this awesome photo!

Tips from a Breckenridge, Colorado Wedding Planner

Posted by on February 11th, 2013

When you have a wedding in the mountains, you are lucky enough to be surrounded by beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views. There can also be challenges that come along with having a wedding here. Hopefully the next series of blog posts titled ‘Advice from a Wedding Planner’ will help you avoid some of these minor challenges to make your day run as smooth as possible.

Wearing stilettos has always been in fashion but sinking into the ground has not. These little pieces of wood allowed the bridesmaids to stand in the grass without sinking and also showed them exactly where to stand. Smart!

These little plastic pieces are called ‘Heels Above’ and will also keep you from aerating the lawn. 🙂

Hopefully these two tips will keep those heels nice, pretty and free of dirt. Happy planning!

As a Breckenridge Wedding Planner I Invite all Brides to the Breckenridge Bridal Bash

The wedding planning season is upon us and as a Breckenridge wedding planner I suggest that all brides-to-be  join Breckenridge’s premier wedding professionals June 1-3, 2012: spend the weekend meeting Breckenridge caterers, photographers, shuttle companies, lodging properties, wedding planners and more.

Event registration is $25 and includes two hosted cocktail receptions, meet-and-greets with local vendors, breakout sessions on wedding planning, a box lunch, shuttled site tours and more.

Stay the weekend to scope out all Breckenridge has to offer – event registrants receive Friday night discounts and tastings at local restaurants. Lodging at popular wedding properties/venues starts at $59 per night and brides are welcome to bring guests. Register at www.breckenridgebridalbash.com or contact Angela Wirth with the Breckenridge CVB for details: 866-683-6409.

As a Breckenridge wedding planner I encourage all brides to-be-to come to the high country and meet the finest wedding professionals at the meet-and-greet.  Caterers, florists, lodging properties, photographers, shuttle services, spas/salons, town representatives, and wedding planners will all be on hand to answer questions!
