Destination Wedding Planner: Tips for planning a Colorado winter wedding
Posted by johnna-patton on December 7th, 2014
We don’t care if the wind has ruined our freshly blow- dried tresses or we’ve stood in a puddle for the third time this week. We’re so excited that winter is upon us! It’s the most romantic time of year filled with hot drinks, cozy evenings, tasty treats and festive decor. And such a special season to have a wedding! We’re definitely believers that a winter wedding can be just as intricate and gorgeous as a summertime fete! With the right elements, your winter wedding will be a wonderland!
Match your invitations to the climate
Treat your guests to a carmel apple bar
Or a hot chocolate bar
Use pinecones and succulents in your flower arrangements
Scatter candles everywhere
Send guests home with cup cozies
Or gloves
Or hot cocoa
And thank your wedding party with cozy blankets
Colorado Wedding Planner: Jamie & Brian
Posted by elizabeth waldmann on November 4th, 2014
Like most weddings this summer in Colorado, Jamie & Brian had their share of sprinkles. I was so proud of Jamie when she took the news of rain, in stride. She left the decisions up to her wedding coordinators, Johnna and myself. As luck would have it the rain started right at 5 so instead of starting the ceremony, we started the cocktail hour. Everyone enjoyed a glass of champagne and as soon as we saw a break in the clouds, we asked guests to take their seats and Jamie & Brian were married outside. Phew! From that point on it was smooth sailing. With doing the cocktail hour first, we were able to keep on track with the timeline and not even cut into dancing. Yay!! Everyone had such a great night and from the photos from Rachel Olsen of Rachel Olsen Photography you can see exactly that! Thank you Jamie & Brian for choosing Distinctive Mountain Events to be a part of your big day!
Colorado Mountain Wedding Planner: Kylie & Chad

Kylie and Chad were one of those couples that you could just see the love. Even at the rehearsal the night before, they were beaming. The happy couple got married on top of a mountain in beautiful Keystone, Colorado. Close friends and family traveled mainly from the midwest to see these two get married. The two gondolas up did not disappoint, I’m sure. My ultimate favorite part of this wedding? When they got on stage with the band Deja Blu. They were having a blast! Thank you Chris Humphreys Photography for these awesome photos!
Keystone Wedding Planner: Jill & Gabe

We have had a pretty wet summer so far, here in the mountains. This can be a challenge when you have a wedding up two mountain gondolas to get to Timber Ridge in Keystone, Colorado. Jill and Gabe must have some great vibes on their side because the rain held off all evening and the resulted in an enchanting evening. I always love some clouds (no rain) on a wedding day because it just add something theatrical to the photos. You tell me. Aren’t these moments captured, amazing?! Thank you Matthew Photography the photos!
