Colorado Wedding Planner: Ashley, Mike and Chunk
Posted by johnna-patton on January 31st, 2018
I’m not kidding when I say Ashley, Mike and Chunk. Chunk, I’m hoping you have guessed by now, is Ashley and Mike’s pupper, and he was a big part of their day. Planning with Ashley and Mike was one of the highlights of my summer! These two are so much fun! Being huge music fans they not only flew in DJ Dominic Wayne from Chicago but also had music lyrics on every table. As a Colorado wedding planner I have learned that weddings at the end of September can be eventful to say the least. Mike and Ashley had initially planned to have their ceremony on the deck of The Lodge at Breckenridge to treat their guests to the stunning views. The big day arrives and wow–snow! Undaunted, Mike and Ashley said their vows in the snow, making for fabulous photos captured perfectly by Lindsey Boluyt of Lindsey Boluyt Photography. The ceremony deck was a winter wonderland and thanks to Ashley’s vision, Ladybird Poppy and Elite Entertainment’s execution, the reception was a bohemian paradise. Thank you Ashley and Mike for being beautiful inside and out!
Breckenridge Wedding Planner: Wedding Party Idea
Posted by elizabeth waldmann on January 23rd, 2018
Last December my husband and I were asked by a couple of our friends to take a cooking class. Honestly we didn’t have much going on and we love our friends so we thought what the heck?! I had no idea it would be so much fun and that I would actually learn a few things. We took the class in a professional kitchen at Colorado Mountain College under the instruction of Ian Buchanan. We had some instruction in the beginning, a tour of the kitchen then we were really set loose. Everything was at our fingertips which was awesome. I was looking for the hard boiled eggs only to find out I had to do it myself. Ha! I always had a difficult time hard boiling eggs. The high altitude is a true challenge and mine always come out either over or under done. I thought about walking out right there. But with some direction from Ian, he taught me to hard boil a perfect egg that I still use today. Eggs in cold water, bring to a boil, set for 13 minutes, remove from heat, let sit for 5 minutes in hot water then place in cold water until cool enough to peel. Perfect! As you can see from the photos, after all of our hard work we were able to enjoy all of the yummy food with a glass of wine. I totally recommend doing this with anyone. I think it would be a perfect thing for your fiance, parents and future inlaws to all do together. Check out the calendar of events by clicking here. We can’t wait to hear how it goes!!
Colorado Wedding Planner: My Favorite Moment of a Wedding Part 2
Posted by elizabeth waldmann on January 9th, 2018
I decided when I did my first post of ‘My Favorite Wedding Moment’, that I wanted to make it a yearly thing…because I love it so much! Click here to see the original post. In addition that, I love how the father of the bride looks walking their daughter down the aisle. Their chest is out a little farther, they are standing a little taller and couldn’t look more proud. I adore it! Check out these photos below. All the feels!
Destination Wedding Planner: Tips for including your dog in your big day
Posted by johnna-patton on January 3rd, 2018
Your wedding day, it’s one of the most special days of your life. Of course you want to be surrounded by ALL of your loved ones! As a wedding planner in the Colorado Rocky Mountains my favorite trend over the past few years is couples involving their four legged friends in their wedding. Including your furry friend in your big day will absolutely make the day more memorable, but it also requires some thought. Here are a few things to consider:
- Make sure that your venue allows dogs Some venues have strict no pets policies.
- Designate a dog handler for the day Assign one person to be responsible for your fur baby for the time he or she is at the wedding. This frees up the bride and groom and also lets Fido be included in the big day.
- Take a trip to the Groomers Make sure your dog looks and smells delicious for the wedding.
- Don’t forget the Photos Make sure you hire a dog friendly photographer and include your pup in your shot list.
- Practice, practice, practice Spend some time training your dog–whether it is walking down the aisle or wearing a bow tie.
- Have an exit plan If your dog can’t sit through the ceremony or things don’t go as expected.
Thank you Lindsey Boluyt for the fun photo!
Alpenglow Stube Wedding Planner: Nichele & Ben
Posted by elizabeth waldmann on December 26th, 2017
Nichele and Ben. What’s better than getting married on a mountain in the middle of winter? As a Keystone wedding planner I can tell you…nothing. Everyone is bundled up and the worst thing that can happen is it can snow. But that’s half the fun isn’t it? I’m so happy to share this wedding with you. From the pine cone escort card holders to the bride’s white shawl, the entire wedding screamed winter. Love! Even the flowers by Ladybird Poppy were winter themed. These two were married on Anticipation Run in Keystone, Colorado. It is simply my favorite backdrop for a Colorado winter wedding. Thank you to Sarah Roshan Photography for these stunning photos! And if you want to see their wedding video, check out Bosha Video by clicking here! Also a big shout out to A Great Time DJ who kept the party going once the guests arrived at the reception venue at the Alpenglow Stube. So much fun! It leaves me wondering, why doesn’t everyone have a Colorado winter wedding?!
