With the sale of marijuana for recreational use now legal in Colorado, pot and its various paraphernalia are becoming visible at weddings in my state. Brides and grooms, even ones who say they don’t partake often but want to be hospitable, are giving guests choices that are much different than the standard merlot or chardonnay. Now, the choice could be Durbin Poison or Grape Ape.
In honor of 420 I am excited to write about the 420 wedding we planned last summer! I knew from the first meeting that Jenny Finkel and Ryan Mason were not interested in the typical Colorado mountain wedding. Their vision was less Martha Stewart and more High Times. The couple met years before at the Burning Man Festival in Black Rock Desert, Nevada. Ryan and Jenny drove a 1 ton multi colored tent called the “Shady Waffle” from San Francisco to Colorado. The Shady Waffle was home to a weed bar tended by two amazing budtenders, an oxygen bar, a liquor bar and a lounge. So fun! The budtenders were very knowledgeable and they walked the guests through the whole experience. Happy 420! Thank you to Joe Kusamoto of Joe Kusamoto Photography for keeping an open mind and capturing this amazing day!

As a destination event planner I am always excited to meet a bride that embraces the winter wonderland that is Breckenridge, Colorado. Julie and Ryan got married at an on mountain resort in Breckenridge last December. The bride’s vision was “a Colorado ski vacation wrapped around a wedding.” Mission accomplished! Thank you Trystan Photography for capturing the magic!

We get the privilege of working with Breckenridge locals only about a couple times a summer. We were so excited when Heather contacted us about being their ‘Day Of’ coordinators for their wedding at the River Walk Center in Breckenridge, Colorado. This couple could not have been more fun. They had the whole lawn at the River Walk Center and they filled every bit of it with games. They even rented a ping pong table. How cool is that? Cindy at Bloom did their flowers which were breath taking. As you can see from these amazing photos, Diana at Diana Sabreen Photography totally rocked it in capturing such a great day! (the last one is my favorite 🙂 Thank you to the happy couple, Heather and Brian for including us in on your special day!
