Breckenridge Wedding Planner: Mary & Steve
Posted by elizabeth waldmann on January 10th, 2017
Mary and Steve chose The Lodge at Breckenridge for their summer wedding. The day could not have been more perfect. As you can see from the photos the sky was blue and only a few clouds in the sky. We had the rehearsal the day before and it was so incredibly windy. So much so that I was getting a little nervous that it would continue on the day of their wedding. As luck would have it the only damage the wind caused on the day of was to take the veil right out of Mary’s hair. It sounds dramatic but it was before she walked down the aisle and nearly no one witnessed it. Phew! Mary’s aunt performed the ceremony for Mary and Steve and it was so heartwarming. Dave at Beggar’s Tunes kept the guests entertained with music, all night long. Bloom provided the gorgeous centerpieces. A big shout out to Corrie at Corrie Kraft Photography for these flawless photos! Enjoy!
Colorado Wedding Planner: My Favorite Moment of a Wedding…
Posted by elizabeth waldmann on December 20th, 2016
I think this might be my favorite post ever. Every wedding planner has their favorite aspect of a wedding. Some love the dress, some love the ring, some love the first dance. My favorite moment is when everyone is seated, I have sent the entire wedding party down the aisle, I’ve cued the music change and now I’m waiting with the bride and her father to send them down the aisle. This proud dad is about to give his little girl away and he is just so proud, excited, nervous, anxious (the list goes on) and I’m there to witness the all those last minute hugs, kisses and conversations. I feel so incredibly lucky to be a part of such a special moment.
Silverthorne Wedding Planner: Lindsay and Jim

How beautiful is this wedding?! I feel like I do not even need to say anything, these amazing photos speak for themselves! Jamie Fischer of Jamie Fischer Photography really nailed it with this gorgeous couple. Lindsay and Jim chose a ranch just north of Silverthorne, Colorado to say their ‘I do’s’. The wedding ceremony was on the lawn with mountains in the back ground. The wedding arch was adorned with stunning florals from Bloom Flower Shop. After the ceremony the guests went around to the back of the ranch for an elegant cocktail hour. Next they moved into the clear top tent for a romantic wedding dinner from Food Hedz. Drew Reges took over the tunes and kept everyone moving all night long.
Thank you Lindsay and Jim for choosing us to be your wedding planners for your very special Colorado wedding!
Keystone Wedding Planner: Jamie & Andy

How beautiful is this couple and this wedding!?!! Our busy summer wedding season is from June until September. We are lucky enough to plan a handful of winter weddings every year. These weddings tend to be smaller occasions ranging anywhere from just the couple to about 20 people. Jamie and Andy pulled out all the stops when planning their Keystone winter wedding. Six piece band…check! Beautiful (and delicate) floral arrangements…check! Over 100 guests…check! Oh, and did I mention everyone needed to take two gondolas to get there? Gondolas are not just for skiing anymore 🙂 Jamie and Andy were married at Our Lady of Peace in Silverthorne, Colorado. After the I do’s the couple and guests made their way to River Run in Keystone to load the gondola and head to Timber Ridge. I don’t know how she did it but Sarah at Ladybird Poppy managed to get all of the breathtaking flowers up two gondolas without even a wilted petal. Incredible! The wedding party and guests partied all night long to the jams of Raising Cain Band. A huge thank you to Christin and River of Riv/Rose for capturing and sharing this day!
Thank you Jamie and Andy for choosing Distinctive Mountain Events to be your winter wedding planners for your big day! We had so much fun planning with you and wish you a lifetime of happiness!
Breckenridge Wedding Planner: Kellie & Kent
Posted by elizabeth waldmann on July 28th, 2016
Kellie and Kent became our clients from a referral from another couple we worked with. We always love referrals especially when we had as much fun with them as they did with us. Stay with me, Kellie is the sister of a groom of a couple we worked with from the year before. When I heard the last name (and it’s a unique one) I felt some deja vu and a bit of confusion. I was so excited to work with Kellie and Kent because they are such a great family and group of people. So down to the details…
From the beginning of our process you could just see how much these two loved each other. They chose Ten Mile Station for their gorgeous ceremony and reception. Beautiful sherbet tones and blues were used throughout the wedding to really make the venue and the mountain scenery pop. A huge thank you to Caroline Colvin Photography for capturing the day and sharing the wedding photos!
