Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Thrift Store Picture Frames
Posted by elizabeth waldmann on August 17th, 2013
Picture frames are always a great find at thrift stores. If you are like me, you have a collection of them. When Rachael Grace Photography and I were thinking about recycled/green décor ideas for a wedding, I wanted to incorporate them somehow. Tables need numbers and I needed a place to put the picture frames. Perfect. Table numbers in the picture frames! Adds a special something to the table and best of all, you can put your favorite wedding photos in them to remember that special day.
Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Quilt Guestbook

Guestbooks have evolved so much since the standard book that people sign. Now people sign photos of the happy couple, stones that will go along the path to the couple’s happy home, even Jenga pieces. When Rachael from Rachael Grace Photography asked me to start this recycled/green wedding details, I knew I wanted to include a creative guestbook. I thought it would be a cute idea if in your invitation you indicated to everyone that you wanted a triangle piece of fabric that they sign and send it back with the RSVP. When you get those triangles, make a flag garland with them. Then you can hang it up and use as decoration at the wedding reception. After the wedding, sew it into a quilt for your first child. Your child will then be warmed by the well wishes of your closest family and friends for years to come.

There are so many things you can do with what some people would consider ‘trash’. At a wedding this summer, a disregarded window became a beautiful display for a seating chart. I absolutely love this idea because, after they wedding, you can actually hang it up on a wall in your house. As you can see from the second picture, I have a personal love for these frames. Not only is it a cute display at your wedding but also in your home. Win Win!
