Breckenridge Wedding Planner, Plans Her Wedding! : Decor Optimization

Posted by on May 8th, 2014

During the wedding season last summer, I took the opportunity to save some decorations that normally would have gone in the trash. I know this may sound bizarre but I thought it was a great chance to give second life to a normally single used decoration. When Wes and I began our wedding planning journey, I knew I wanted to include these items. Whether it was burlap runners or wooden pedestals, I was very happy to be reusing these items!

Another way we kept from having decorations that are single use is by saving our San Pellegrino and Espolon bottles. Two of my favorite liquids! Mineral water and tequila! These bottles normally would end up in our recycling. Instead, I removed the labels, tied a piece of jute around the neck and filled the bottle with a flower. After the wedding, the bottles will simply be placed in the recycling. Stay tuned for the beautiful result!

Keystone Wedding Planner: Amy & Eric

Posted by on April 1st, 2014

Amy and Eric had a very beautiful wedding at Timber Ridge in Keystone, Colorado. From our very first meeting, you could really see how much love these two have for each other. The small details slipped away and they just focused on each other. One of the details I loved was the utilization of the flowers. The rehearsal dinner was held the night before at the Keystone Ranch. There were so many gorgeous flowers that night and they thought in order to use the flowers for two nights, they had me pick up the flowers from the Ranch and transport them to Timber Ridge. I loved this idea because as a wedding planner I see these amazing flowers used for only one night. This way they were able to be used twice. Love! Thank you Jaime Marie Photography for capturing these awesome photos!

Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Mother’s Wedding Dress

Posted by on March 15th, 2014

I absolutely love the idea of using your mother’s old wedding dress as your wedding dress.  When Rachael from Rachael Grass Photography and I were talking about being more ‘green’ during a wedding, we knew we needed to include this. Fashion has changed through the years so (with your mom’s approval of course) you can take a piece of what you really love about your mom’s dress and have a seamstress transform it into something that you will cherish forever. That way you can have something you love and a part of something that your mother did.

Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Pages as a Table Runner

Posted by on February 15th, 2014

To add interest to a wedding table, instead of a traditional table runner, you can construct a runner made entirely out of pages of books. Rachael of Rachael Grace Photography came up with this idea and I absolutely love it! You can go to the Goodwill and find books or if you have some old ones lying around the house that haven’t been read in a very long time and you can give them new life and join in the wedding day fun!

Recycled/Green Wedding Details: Mason Jars

Posted by on January 30th, 2014

During one of the weddings we planned last summer at Timber Ridge in Keystone, Colorado we came across a great story that involved a very popular wedding trend; mason jars. The bride’s family had a really creative way of collecting them. When I told Rachael about the story, we knew we needed to include it in our green/recycled wedding details series. The mother of the bride was an elementary school teacher and told her students she would give them a piece of candy for every jar they brought in. The kids were hungry for candy and the results were amazing. There were so many mason jars in every shape and size. We put a candle in each and it just lit up the room. Perfection!
